Go Ape Dalby Forest
Go Ape Dalby Forest, is actually located around 6 miles from Pickering centre towards Scarborough on the Coast. It is accessed two ways, either via Whitby road (right at the Fox & Rabbit) or via Thornton-le-dale at the junction after the crossing. See Google map below. Go Ape Dalby Forest is one of 34 locations around the UK and has been running for years.
Treetop Challenge
An amazing unique experience that you may struggle to find anywhere else in the country. Testing you to dizzying heights literally, make sure you take a lung full of air and grip on tight! The sort of things you will tackle are canopy-height crossings, riding on high zip-wires and last not least, free-fall Tarzan swings. Relax and perhaps scream a little as you make your way through the Challenge and ‘let your hair down’! You will encounter rope ladders and similar exciting things as you ‘test your metal’ on this course.
Treetop Adventure
Get ready for an action packed 1-hour introduction to highropes life. You will encounter wobbly bridges, intricate crossings and a zip wire final. There will be laughter and screams no doubt! Whether you’ll be swinging in the trees by their side or egging them on from the ground, the little ones will be walking proud after they’ve completed this course. Recommendations and tips
In the Summer or fine weather, you could combine the trip here with a picnic in the adjacent fields, where BBQs can be used and picnic benches are placed. There is also a children’s play area there and a cafe, so you could make a full day of it.
If you are staying longer you could also visit other areas of Dalby Forest whilst you are there and take in some walks or hire a bike there and go for a ride! There are lots of things going on at Dalby Forest, so plan ahead before you go.
There is a lot of parking either nearby at the Visitor Centre or at the Go Ape itself. In the Summer it can get really busy, and various overflow carparks will be opened up further down the road.
Why not base yourself the night before in Pickering near Dalby Forest, then it will only be a short journey and you’ll avoid any traffic on the day of your visit. Try the Best Western or Pickering Hotels page.
