Things to do in Pickering
Plenty of things to do in Pickering (and free things too) should you be looking. Below is a directory of just a few of the popular choices. Pickering and ‘The Gateway to the Moors’ is a stunning rural area catering to outdoor types and families. The North Yorkshire Seaside coast is only half an hour away, and it is massively popular with Visitors.
It’s easy to have either a ‘Moors’ day, ‘ Seaside’ day, or just kick around the town and nearby villages! When it comes to day trips in the area. Depending on whether you are looking to do something in the center of town or nearby, then you could easily keep entertained with the Main Tourist Attractions; The English Heritage Pickering Castle, The Pickering Church, and the North Yorkshire Moors Railway. You can see these on a budget quite easily or purchase a train ticket or Castle Pass to experience more and spend more time enjoying them whilst you are in the area.
There is also Beck Isle Museum, which is definitely worth a look if you would like a blast back into the past. The shops, buildings, and streets are interesting if you would like to meander for a while before perhaps nipping into one of the town’s cafes, pubs, or restaurants for a spot of lunch, afternoon tea, or an ice cream and milkshake stop for the children!
Lots of activities are available in the area (too many to list in one go), so we will be working to update and build on the list below regularly. Come back to see updates on this page soon!
